The first wine region I ever visited was the Casablanca Valley in Chile. I spent the day chaperoning a group of VIPs who were guests onboard the ship where I worked. We spent the morning exploring sunny vineyards filled with ripening grapes and tasting multiple vintages before enjoying a long lazy lunch chatting with the vineyard owner and the winemaker. I remember how delighted the guests were to hear the history of the vineyard and the winemaking process – the joy shared was not just in tasting the wine. It was a great day and the bar on any future wine experiences had been set high.
Through my travels and tastings since then, I have discovered that each wine experience is quite different, it could be a fully immersive journey taking you from vine to vintage, a blow your socks off food and wine pairing, a romantic vineyard picnic or cellar door sampling at a local winery or city merchant. If you enjoy wine at any level and would like to explore the regions behind the bottle then you have come to the right place.
